For Minecraft 1.21.11 with Fabric
How to install
- 1
Install Fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11
Official Minecraft Launcher: download the Fabric installer, choose Minecraft 1.21.11 and click Install. A new "fabric-loader-1.21.11" profile appears in the launcher.
Prism, MultiMC, the Modrinth App or CurseForge: create a new instance with Minecraft 1.21.11 and the Fabric loader.
- 2
Download the Departed mod
One file: departed.jar. You do not need Fabric API, Sodium, Iris or anything else, Departed sets those up for you.
Download departed.jar - 3
Put it in your mods folder
Windows: press Win + R, type %appdata%\.minecraft\mods and press Enter.
macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods
Linux: ~/.minecraft/mods
Prism, MultiMC, Modrinth App, CurseForge: open the instance, then its Mods tab or folder.
- 4
Launch and press Login
Start the Fabric profile and press Login on the title screen - it joins play.departed.gg directly.
On your first join Departed downloads its pack (shaders, performance mods, voice chat, our textures) and restarts the game by itself. After that it keeps itself up to date.

Questions
- Do I need the mod to play?
- No. Any unmodded Minecraft 1.21.11 or newer can join play.departed.gg. The mod adds shaders, performance and voice chat.
- Which Minecraft version?
- The Departed mod is for Minecraft 1.21.11 on Fabric. Unmodded Minecraft works on 1.21.11 and newer.
- It says "Update Fabric Loader"
- Your Fabric Loader is too old for part of the pack. Run the Fabric installer again (or update the loader in your launcher), then restart.
- The game closed and did not come back
- Just start it again - the update was already installed when it closed.
- Can I use my own shader pack?
- Departed only allows its own shaders by default. To allow another pack, add its file name to config/departed/shader-whitelist.txt in your Minecraft folder. Warning: Your shaders probably won't work correctly, if you want it supported, please request it in the Discord server!
